The emergence and widespread adoption of electric vehicles has increased the need for transparency in society, as people generally show reluctance to embrace this clean technology or lack sufficient awareness about it. The main objective of the present study is to design a conceptual model for the formation of attitudes and the willingness of people to use electric vehicles, considering the role of sustainable transportation in Mazandaran Province. This is an applied research study and falls under the category of mixed-method research.
In the qualitative part of the study, thematic analysis was used to design the research model, with data gathered through literature review and expert interviews. The statistical population of this section included all experts in the fields of energy and the automotive industry, totaling 17 individuals selected using the snowball sampling method.
In the quantitative part, the ISM method was used for the hierarchical structuring of the research variables, and the IPA method was used for analyzing the current situation and prioritizing factors. The results indicated that there are five overarching themes in the research model:
Lifestyle and consumer behavior, Market dynamics and industrial competition
, Social acceptance and environmental sustainability
, Policy-making, economics, and financial incentives,
And Technological innovation and energy infrastructure.
Among these, lifestyle and consumer behavior ranked highest in priority and influence, while technological innovation and energy infrastructure were ranked lowest in terms of impact and importance.
