The complexities of each project during implementation and the absence of conventional items in the price list make the necessity of using new work items inevitable. In this situation, the exact way of interpreting and performing reverse adjustment calculations is very important. Applying changes in the rate of materials, machinery and wages (components that make up the price unit) during the time period of the work execution compared to the same rate at the time of submission of the contractor's price proposal in the contract amount is called price adjustment. Despite the notification of adjustment directive for several years, contractors and employers still have differences in construction projects, and this causes new claims by contractors to receive more money. Unfortunately, this has two consequences. One is illegal violations in the financial sector and the other is reducing the budget of construction projects. The purpose of this research is to solve a practical example with two methods of manual calculations and software calculations, simultaneously with the detailed interpretation of the original text of the directive, to investigate different situations in order to avoid the mentioned risks.
