English

In this research, the fracture strength of roller-compacted concrete reinforced with natural fibers under different loading conditions has been investigated. For this purpose and creating loading modes of pure tension, pure shear and the combination of the two, a semi-circular sample with an edge crack was used. Three-point bending test was used to determine the fracture strength of the samples. The critical stress intensity coefficient obtained from the failure test, and the shape coefficients obtained from the finite element analysis were used as evaluation criteria. The results showed that the increase in the failure load due to the increase in the percentage of natural fibers in the samples leads to the fact that the cracked roller-compacted concrete samples with natural fibers are more resistant to crack growth than the samples without natural fibers in all loading modes. The optimal percentage of natural fibers in different loading modes according to the fracture resistance of the samples is 0.3% of the total weight of the roller-compacted concrete.
